trouble getting bot to acknowledge users other than myslef

Post by grinch157 »

hi i'm using eggdrop 1.6.13, it's a windrop actually. when i set it up i say hello to the bot and it says that it acknowledges that i am owner and to set password, i do this with no problem but, however when i add users to it they have problems dccing to it. It refuses the connection saying either they have no access or no password. So i set chan flags for them saying they have master access via the +m flag, that seemed to solve the no access problem. then it says they don't have password set. but when they try to set a password via the /msg bot pass pssword string they get no response at all, and neither do i when i try to do the same, i get noresponse. however i am able to dcc, telnet and /ctcp into the bot with now problems... accept when i /msg it.. another thing it does do is it lets the new users do the /msg bot help command, it seems thats about it.

does anyone know why this is???? please HELP!!!!!!!

thanks in advance

Check in the .conf file the "protect-telnet" variable, check if the eggdrop is not behind an NAT firewall or something similar that might not allow other users to connect to. Also, be shure your friends have the "p" user flag.
