bot doesn't connect

i can configure the bot fine, and i even get the:

STARTING BOT IN USERFILE CREATION MODE.
Telnet to the bot and enter 'NEW' as your nickname.
OR go to IRC and type: /msg botnick hello
This will make the bot recognize you as the master.

and after waiting for about 10 minutes, i dont see my bot connect.
i'm trying to have it connect to gamesurge.net. does anyone have the patience to guide a noob, or by chance have a precompiled bot that i can use to connect?

If I understand you right, you can telnet the bot and set yourself as the master but it doesn't connect to your preferred network?
If so, than telnet into the bot and watch the output on the partyline.

ya, just telnet into the bot, type .server and .status
also try *me thinks* .console +s

that should see the server message, see if the bot is banned , etc.
