where i put my eggdrops in the shell, they told me i can't
they whont open telnet , so if telnet is not open how can i link bots?

You can put the eggdrops anywheres in the shell. Most people use the default dir "eggdrop".
./home/user/eggdrop/ would be the path name.
If "they" say you "can't" , then ask "them" to do it for you.
If they don`t allow telnet, you still might be able to use telnet locally from the shell, or just try dcc from irc.

I am pretty sure your shell company is referring to running a telnet daemon to use to login to your shell account, not for telnet communication between applications.
