this is asked like once a week ;)

you will find more help doing the search because most people here are just tired of answering the same question.

hints:
1. Firewall? (winxp firewall maybe)
2. local/lan ip set in your irc settings as your external ip? change it to external
3. does the bot have your valid hostname, do you have +p ?

./dcc chat botnick
./ctcp chat botnick

maybe you can telnet to it too ./telnet ip port

ok
I've also a Problem with dcc.

I started it with the -n option to look what happens on an dcc connection. It's this:

Code: Select all

[14:43] -JeanLuc (~webmaster@trekgalaxy.de)- DCC Chat (217.187.190.211)
[14:43] DCC connection: CHAT (JeanLuc!~webmaster@trekgalaxy.de)
[14:43] CTCP DCC: CHAT chat 3652959955 4999 from JeanLuc (~webmaster@trekgalaxy.de)
[14:43] net: connect! sock 7
[14:43] net: eof!(read) socket 7
[14:43] Lost dcc connection to JeanLuc (~webmaster@trekgalaxy.de/4999)
also ctcp is not working

The eggdrop is on an linux system which is directly connected to the internet and ist also my router. I've opend the ports mirc uses for dcc an the listen port 113
2. local/lan ip set in your irc settings as your external ip? change it to external
I've no static externel IP, so it won't make sence to write it in here. Does an dynamic dns adress works too?
