Yeah you have to get them to disable the identd off so you can use dynamic idents.
Some client servers, which do not resolve your shell ident, like on DALnet we have broadway.*, jade.* sometimes, resolve your psybnc username instead of your shell username, with a "~" (dynamic ident) infront.
This doesn't happen alot. It only works for some servers, at sometimes I guess. Probobaly because of DNS problems lookup, you can see the ENABLE IDENTD on connect and etc options in mIRC and look them up in the help files for a better explanation.

But what really make me knock my head is that most of my users could change their identd n their identd are the identd which needed to log into the bouncer.
From the psybnc admin query:
* user(current nick)@hostmask[:ips server] :username
making them to:
current nick is ~user@hostmask * username
I'm sooo confuse and really had a bad headace figuring this one..
As I mentioned they can change their idents, if the irc server they connect to doesnt resolve their idents.
So on psybnc we can say, their idents will have a "~" in the begining followed by their psybnc account name (psybnc userid). This is for the people who have dynamic idents.
If the irc client server catches your ident, then you will be using the shells username. And their idents would not have a "~" in the beginning as their ident was resolved.

PsyBNC is an extensive program and a lot of reading is needed to fully understand its functions. From memory there is an extensive help system with it. Identd's in mIRC can be set to anything but when connecting to the bouncer, it takes over.
