A friend of mine is also setting up an eggdrop to sit on my channel. I was just wondering what advantages linking them together would have, or is it better to keep them as individual bots?
Also can anyone provide with a site that explains the details on linking bots.
Thanks!

Linking has more advantages than sharing userfiles.
It provides you with a method to contol multiple bots over one connection. Yes, this is possible over IRC, but not during splits.
Secure OPing can be done between bots. EG, you don't have to manualy op them, they can request it from each other using scripts over the botnet.

linking ownz
expecially for the request op script,
and for the scripts that control all bots with one command from the hub bot.
