can it be done??
a tcl script that looks in the db of a forum for new entrys and post those in the channel and also link to that topic?
got root?

yes. (but it would be better to make the code adding posts to the db also notify the bot)

That kind of script has already been released (a bit buggy)! Search in the annoucements section of this forum. I am very sure it was posted over there! :mrgreen:
