I have just installed eggdrop onto my server. By the looks of it, all the listening ports and hostname stuff works, but when I try to telnet into it, in windows the telnet window closes. What could be wrong?
It is running on a Linux Redhat 9 Server. I have tried turning the firewall off and it makes no difference.
Gimpy: what do you mean about linux redhat 9 server? you mean your shell running on linux redhat 9 server?
if your telnet client windows didn't work, you can download putty.exe and starting telnet your shell and using winscp if you want to upload in to your background shell quickly. hopefully this is works (i hope so )
note: you can find PuTTY download page at: http://gnu.kookel.org/ftp/putty/download.html
