Iv'e got 2 bots (eggdrop1.6. on a shell along with a bnc. For some reason they both crash on the hour, every hour. The BNC seems to be ok so im assuming it's a eggdrop problem.

So far iv'e recompiled both bots, used new conf files and changed the save user/chan time to 00:15 instead of 00:00. Neither bots give any error msg when they crash. The irc message i see when both bots die is "[21:00] *** Quits: **bot** (Remote closed the connection)" I've got exactley the same setup on a identical shell without this problem.

Is there any log file seeting i can use which would tell me why they keep crashing out ?

hmm, now that is wierd. possibly the system might be SIGKILLing it, though why it would do this every hour i dunno. ask your admin if he's running any process limitation scripts.

Checked with the admin, no scripts running every hour.

If I run both bots they crash every hour, alltho if i run only one it seems to be OK.

Iv'e just tried removing extra .tcls and have stopped the bot's from linking onto the botnet, still the same.

Maybe there is a 1 background process limit???

Nope, I can run a BNC on the same shell along side the 2 bots and the BNC doesn't get effected at all, just the 2 bots die.

If I stop the BNC and try the 2 bots again, the same problem occurs.

Hey, I think there probably is a process limit. Although you can run a bot and BNC, this is not the same as two Bots. Many of the companies will offer you two or more background processes, but not all of these may be bots. I'd say the admin is running a background process that checks for people exceeding the limits, and that is why they are getting killed every hour. Your best bet is to ask the admin, you will probably have to pay extra for another background process.
