AI bot

Post by Buffy_25 »

Hi,

I made a search on the forum for this, but in vain :-?
I have eggdrop 1.6.17 and downloaded J-Alice (AI bot).

I'm encountering some difficulties to understand how this is working (maybe some of you already tried this...)
I can make this J-alice work and enter a channel. But it doesn't seem to be launched as a normal .tcl script with my current eggdrop :(
Or is it possible to make j-alice work as a tcl in my eggdrop?
Or is J-alice a stand alone bot?
If yes, is it possible to make this bot join channels with a passw?
And how can i make it identify to nickserv?
I dunno if those answers can be replied in this forum section...it's just in case some one already tried this bot

Or does some one knows a good bot that can be launched in eggdrop (tcl) and that looks like a real human (and if possible, that is interfearing in the discussions on channel...so that not each time his/her nick need to be used before he replies)

Regards,
Buffy

Ok, no clue what J-Alice is exactly... I presume you are refering to Alice.tcl by Strikelight?

Of course. Look here to make eggdrop join keyed channels

Hi YooHoo,

In fact J-Alice can be found on http://j-alice.sourceforge.net/
I knew how to join a channel passw protected and to identify to nickserv. but thnx anyway

Is alice.tcl very elaborated chat bot? (since J-alice was acting as real human...). But i don't know if J-alice is restricted to run as standalone bot? (without being linked to eggdrop)

All positif info on other chatbots is welcome :P

as far that I can see from j-alice's sf page, it's in C++; so converting it to tcl might not be a trivial task, but is probably possible

to my knowledge, there is no decent AI script/module for eggdrop (maybe I should write one :P) except MegaHAL module by BarkerJr (and even its AI capabilities are rather rudimentary)

I once converted an AI proggie called "splotch" to eggdrop module for my personal amusement, but it too was too simplistic to be called AI

Hello,

Why do you just use an eggdrop!?
You can put good scripts in it...
...And done =)

Uh, What exactly are you saying here?

If your saying he should use an eggdrop, He obviously already is.
Maybe you should try reading ALL posts before you reply to a topic.

On-topic, If you need something to make your bot more AI like, you can use Strikelight's alicebot, the link was posted by YooHoo earlier on, its quite a nice AI

Or Kalish is quite good, but needs to be optimized :) (it can really slow an eggdrop)
