Linking problem between eggdrop 1.6.17 and eggdrop 1.6.15

I have a bot called "Admin" which is the hub on a botnet, and two others named "Angel" and "Whore", which all three of them are running version 1.6.15 on the same server. Now I want to add another bot into the botnet called "Side", but that one is running version 1.6.17 from another server. While trying to establish a connection between "Side" and "Admin", at no time I ever get an indication of that they have started trying to connect to each other, all though I get the message "Link failed." The problem is that they are actually linked. because they do set mode +o on each other on requests and ask for channel-keys, unban's, etc. It seems that there is a problem switching user-files. They just will not transfer them over. Maybe that's why I get the "Link failed." message.

I added "Angel" in "Side" and the other way around and did set a botattr +a in both of them. That made them connect to each other in a normal way, but as an alternate connection, they do not share userfiles. And they did connect to each other while "Admin" and "Side" was connected with errors. I never experienced any errors with communicating between "Side" and "Angel". "Admin" does not have any problems communicating with "Angel" or "Whore" either. All of the bots are listening on different ports, and I have double-checked that I haven't f***ed up during configuration and adding. Are there any differences in the user-files of 1.6.15 and 1.6.17?

There does not seem to be any port-conflicts on any of the servers, and I am fully able to telnet to all 4 of the bots. I am not able to dcc chat/ctcp chat to "Side" and "Admin". No problems with that to any of the other bots.

Anyone got any idea's?

Eggdrops with different handle lengths can't share userfiles.
