Im new to shells and eggdrop..compiled the whole thing with help in slennox shell and eggdrop page..everything is working real fine...except...when i connect to irc server i get this error:
Couldn't look up your hostname
it takes a very long time to connect...and it shows my ident@ip address instead of my vhost address...any idea's???

ps. is there a way to change the ident..now its my login name but can it be something else?
the dns on that ip is broke. get the admin to fix it.
ident can not normally be changed. shell admins force it to obey rfc behavior so that you're accountable for anything your clients do on a server
