bot blocking access with 'no trojanspreading' msg?

Post by Rekit »

this problem just cropped up and it's something I've never seen before, can't seem to find any reference to, nor have any clue what causes it or how to fix it...

after recent update to version 1.6.17, now suddenly we see this:

(MaJoR^MiSHaP): [06:34] (BeePeR!Underated@Chanops.Beeper.com) !Beeper! NOTES read
(MaJoR^MiSHaP): [06:34] -NOTICE- Message to BeePeR blocked: no trojanspreading

this msg is also given to some on attempts to ident to the bot, some others can't DCC join the partyline for same cause... the example given is a chanop on our network, using a very trojan-free system, and others have done multiple scans of their own systems, but the only one finding/seeing/worried about a trojan.. is the bot!

any help on this would be greatly appreciated, before I have to admit defeat

since i've never seen that msg, i'm gonna assume it is a third-party tcl script that is ultimately responsible for this msg... check ur scripts, loaded at the bottom of yer conf file

thx YooHoo, but no actually I've now found it's not the bot at all, the msg and the blocking is something goofy the server itself is doing to *us*, they're forever changing/tweaking things and sometimes weird stuff just comes outta left field and catches us unawares...

no more responses needed here, false alarm, thanks for playing :)
