File Creation Date

How would I go about getting the date of when a file was created? Thanks.

afaik that info isnt stored anywhere (correct me if I'm wrong), but you can get the last access time with

file atime <filename>

you could use ctime

Is there another method because when using the last access time if my eggdrop dccsends the file, it changes that. Just wondering if there was something else, if not I can just store the access time in a text file.

I think

file stat <file> <var>

would return the date of creation in the array name mtime. Read here.
