problems getting egg to connect to linknet...

nope, it's a network (possibly firewall) problem with TCP connections, and has nothing to do neither with your bot nor with your bnc

try talking to other users of that shell, ask whether they experience the same problem

didn't you already try with other servers/networks with the very same negative result? if not, do so

and tell that guy about your IRC telnet session

alright, i completely started from scratch...re-installed tcl and eggdrop1.6.17...

i then re-configured the eggdrop.conf and finally got it to work. now i just need to figure out how to get the bot to auto-op and stuff :P

i set my bot to connect to irc.hell.at instead of irc.link-net.org and everything worked fine...
