German. modular Version

Post by KriX »

Hello,

I've installed the windrop bot,
(same as eggdrop. isn't it?)

and I've getting the information,
I should write /msg Bot hello to add me as an Owner of it,
but the bot wasn't signing on

additionally, there is an text:

Sie haben die modulare Version installiert, aber keine verschluesselungsoption gewählt, nähere Informationen .. in der entsprechenden Konfigurationsdatei...

Can anyone help me?

LG

P.s. please, if you speak german, speak it ^^

a quick translation with Babelfish turned: 'They installed the modular version, but no coding option selected, closer information. in the appropriate configuration file..'

Duno what exactly you have done there nor from where you got this 'german' version. Get the eggdrop only from secure sites, for instance this.

As for the 'hello' part, first bind the hello in the .conf file. Then start it with '-m'

Yes, windrop is eggdrop compiled with Cygwin on Windows if I'm not mistaken.. Check Windrop Central for information regarding this.

Won't hurt if you'd have a look on Setting up an Eggdrop page too.
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

I've downloaded the windrop v1.6.16 and read the install file,
then I edited the eggdrop.conf file for more than one hour,
and started it with the eggdrop.exe and the runonce.bat,

but,
first he istn't generateing a Bot.user file, (I changed this option from LamestBot.user to Bot.user)
and secondly, the Bot.chan file, he is generating, is empty.

And the hello command is impossible,
because, my windrop isn't signing on,
in my UnrealIRCd status window,
there is shown, 1 client is online,
and this is me :D

Btw:
I didn't configure the eggdrop.conf with the command ./eggdrop or sth like that,
I manually edited the eggdrop.conf with my hands :(

has it ever occured to you that maybe you should try to look around before posting? you wouldn't think you are the only person on Earth whose bot didn't show up on IRC, would you? chances are someone has already explained what to do in such situations, and maybe even put the explanation right before your eyes on the top of this forum for you to read read read...

yes,
i've tried this one:

Connect problems - your bot doesn't show up on IRC, doesn't join channel(s), etc.
Log into the bot via DCC or telnet and type .console +rv (please note that this will work only if you have raw-log set to 1 in your config file); +r flag shows server's output to the bot and +v shows bot's output to the server. Observe what happens after you've set these flags, you might get valuable clues. If you are still unable to find solution to the problem, post the console log along your question.

but, I can't build up an telnet connection or an dcc,
cause, the bot isn't in the IRC, and telnet doesn't work on localhost, does it?

Lesen rulez:
#### BLOWFISH MODULE ####

# IF YOU DON'T READ THIS YOU MAY RENDER YOUR USERFILE USELESS LATER
# Eggdrop encrypts its userfile, so users can have secure passwords.
# Please note that when you change your encryption method later (i.e.
# using other modules like a md5 module), you can't use your current
# userfile anymore. Eggdrop will not start without an encryption module.
#loadmodule blowfish
for english users:
Verschluesselung/Verschlüsselung = encryption, encoding

which translation ever uses "Verschlüsselung" as "coding" is plain stupid :).

You are not, its an unchanged compilation from eggdrop on cygwin with a special TCL version (neither active TCL nor Cygwin TCL, I believe he compiles it somehow via Cygwin) except it might have changes in handlen and memtablesize and may have statsmod and gseenmod included ^-^.

make sure you use [listen] in your config to open a listening port, then restart the bot and use telnet to localhost on that port

did you set my-ip or my-hostname? if you did, you might not be able to telnet via localhost, but only via that IP/Hostname.
I suggest to run in console mode (-n) to see possible errors after running into background without using telnet.

*wird solch einfache Sätze nicht in englisch schreiben, zumal es andere vielleicht auch interessiert und in zwei Sprachen schreiben nervig ist*
