To prevent cheating a bot that already has an uptime of more than (I believe) 4 days is not allowed to join the contest. There is no way for us (eggheads.org or energymech.net) to verify the uptime that your bot has if we do not start from an uptime that is near 0.
Euh, where do they come from? I thought that the bot that is now on number 11 was number one. And if it is not possible to add the comp with 4 days or more uptime...
We are going through some changes and the anti-cheating code was turned off (that is how those people snuck by) .. we are currently switching over to a new uptime server (I just looked and saw your one bot in there (Exp0sed)) and I am working on the new www interface .. it should be back in a few days .. this new server is much much much faster at processing **** and we'll have some better stats for you folks and hopefully an all time top10 and top20 .. perhaps a few XML backends for people who want to write frontend scripts for their bot to use (i.e.. !uptime top10)
Never ceases to amaze me how many people cheat at things, trivial and otherwise... just little bit earlier I was reading in another forum about a game server that upgraded with an anti-cheat feature - within hours the number of cheats caught was in the double digits.
I work in 2nd line technical support for an ISP and we just added anti cheat software to our Counterstrike servers as our customers where constantly complaining of cheats. Since then the servers are almost empty as half the "ex" players on it are getting kicked off automatically as soon as they join it. (Nice and quiet now for the ones of us that dont cheat lol)
Personally the only time I ever use any cheats is in a single player game if I'm REALLY stuck, then once past it, I switch it off again, but thats rare lol.
As for cheating in uptime stats for Eggdrop, sheeesh, these people should get a life!!
Just my two pennerth
