I'm running Eggdrop-1.6.10
on the WebNet IRC Network (irc.webmaster.com) when i startup the bot it startsup fine and joins the channel i specify only in the status and logs it states:

Channels: #chan(trying)

[18:51] <botname> joined <#chan>.
[18:51] Oops, I'm not really on <#chan>

only when i join the channel myself with an irc client the bot is in the channel and on activity the bot says :

[18:56] confused bot: guess I'm on #dutch and didn't realize it
[18:56] Oops, I'm not really on #dutch

while the bot stays in the chan.. i'm using the simple.conf template...

help would be appreciated...

greetz,

I may be wrong here, but I believe this is normally caused by the wrong net type setting in your config file.

/me waits to be corrected

Someone else will know the answer to this question, is webnet one of the servers that has broken away from rfc1459 and developed their own server?

If thats the case (I know there are a couple) then the answer is its the server causing the problem not eggdrop and as eggdrop is and always will be (to my knowledge) rfc1459 compliant there is no way round it without getting the specifics of what they have changed and then developing your own source code patch. A bit like the Xtools patch for IRCx servers that I work on.

Did I sound like I knew what I was talking about then? huh? did I? huh? lol
