Telnet speed - cable v.s. dsl

Post by cache »

Ok just a question, I have both Cable and DSL...

When I telnet in to my bot on cable, it takes 1 min to ask me for username.... when I use DSL to telnet in to my bot it asks for username right away...

Is it normal for cable to take that long?? I have a router on my cable but not on my DSL if it makes any difference..

yes it makes, because the ident request timeouts out. set your router to either reject port 113 or forward to your machine.
