Issues with DCC Chat to get bot setup

Post by fewynmotosuwa »

(16:27:20) !Thor! ERROR no telnet port

I get that everytime I try to initate a chat session with my bot, telnet is not installed on this server so I'm pretty sure that's the issue, is there anyway around this? So I can setup the channels it joins, that's about all I need it to do so it can just run the normal TCL scripts I'm going to load.

Thanks

read the docs!
read about the conf file, pay attention to the 'listen' directive

The listen directive has been changed several times. Still gives the same error.

http://fewyn.is-a-geek.com:1205/Thor.conf there's my config very simple all directives have been changed. (Bot is hosted on another server)

I've gone through the that thread before too, I'll post the answers just so you know I'm not lying. I've set up eggdrops before and never have had this problem ;)

1. mIRC is getting my IP correctly, as I can DCC CHAT to other bots (not hosted on this box)
2. My firewall? See above. (linksys router, I am DMZ, windows firewall off)
3. NAT-Router, See above.
4. Bot has it's ip address set correctly
5. No Firewall installed on the box whatsoever and is also connected through a linksys router that is set as the DMZ. (Different router different location)
6. See above.

If you want help here, I suggest posting the conf here using the code tags.
Few people will download an external file to help, and I'm not one of them.

Most browsers will just open it in the window ;) Unless you aren't using IE/FF/Opera/links/lynx

And again, you've missed the point. Why to post it's conf file DragnLord? It's useless, since the answer had been already given. Re-read the replyes you have recived and follow the instructions.
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

All relevant information whether that be configuration files, snippets, or entire Tcl files are posted using code tags. What IE (or whatever) is able to do is irrelevant.
