Since when did you need a executable config file to setup a crontab job.
just tell your cron script to run ./eggdrop config instead of just ./config

Since I use ./config :P

Personal preference I suppose and as I run 20 bots on shell accounts...
Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

anyone ever figure out a solution to the problem at hand...im having the same one...

config file is setup correctly as i have done it before but switched over to debian OS, no firewall. dns module is loaded.
