Please Help-Advance

Post by bkulaga »

This is Eggdrop's GNU configure script.
It's going to run a bunch of tests to hopefully make your compile
work without much twiddling.

checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
thats what i get when i type ./configure
i am using linux ubuntu desktop edition.. can anyone help me??

or is this problem unfixable
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by Eggdrop configure 1.6.18, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was

$ ./configure

Use your package manager (aptitude) to install the needed libraries &c .i.e tcl/tk, gcc etc.
Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

/usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory

That is part of glibc, so you probably need the development package for that. Or possibly it's in /lib (that's where it is on my system) in which case you need to add /lib to your /etc/ld.so.conf and then run ldconfig to update the cache.
