is it okay to edit the .conf file with WinPad or NotePad ???

Notepad will work fine. (I'm assuming your downloading and then uploading the conf). Just don't use wordwrap. Another good editor I use for coding TCL is ultraedit32.. and then I just put in the TCL wordsets..
