This is a warning to all those who's looking for a new shell compony.
About 2 ½ weeks ago I ordered an account at DSLglobal.com which clamins to be
singaporean compony providing STABLE shells. (u know...they all do)

I waited 3 days and got no response from the compony as they promised, I noticed the order form
wasn't secure either and started to suspect.
I mailed them to cancel my order but they ignored it and charged my few days later for the account.
When I asked them why they ignore my termination request they just kept ignoring and answered me
something like "youre already pending your account now, nothing we can do", or in another words
"shut the **** up".

The server they put me on was on one of their daugher componies located in USA and not in *.SG
as prommised so I asked them to move to their singaporean servers.
It took them about another 3 days to move me to that damn server.
I was shocked! the server was dying all the time! was lagging as hell.
I mailed them and got no response.
So I mailed again and few days later got a response saying something like "its not our fault
u asked for it, if u want we can move u to another server"
I had no choice and I agreed.
so they moved me back to webcove.net and nothing changed! the server has been dropping all the time
The accumulate downtime estimates in about 1 week from the 2½ weeks Ive been with them.
I asked to refund me for the lost time and they ignore that request either.

When I mailed them and asked to terminate my account they sliped away claming their services
are just fine and they doing everything they can to solve the problem. They ignored all 3 requests to
cancel. I had to go to worldpay.com and dig in to find out how to cancel, finally I found it but that was really
a nightmare. right after I canceled a week and a half before due date they removed my account
from the server.

DON'T BE FOOL AND SIGN THERE! IT'S A TRAP.
THE SERVERS ARE LAME, LAGGING, DYING AND REALLY NOT WHAT THEY PROMISE YOU.
they offer you other providers you might want to use, which is the same lame compony!

You say they suck and that webcove.net sucks and then you recommend them? Sounds fishy to me.

Im just posting their aliases so they couldnt fool people around, so people who dont know them yet and their excellent service wont sign there and lose their money.

I believe magmag was quoting something from one of the providers.

I was recently in contact with the admin of one (all?) of these providers and was given the impression that there are three separate administrative teams running the six providers/domains, but all linked in that they are helping one another in the acquisition of customers.

I can't confirm whether the above is in fact the case, though the information for all the mentioned domains in the WHOIS database was identical, which may imply certain things.

I once had a shell account with them. Very poor support and uptime. Recently, I had been looking around for good shell providers in Singapore. There are many other shell provider who are much better than DSLGlobal. Just subscribed to bots.com.sg who is also a Singapore shell provider. Their service and support are excellent after a month I have been with them.

I wudnt say i disagree with what magmag has to say, but i certainly wud like to say something about ghostweb. (the individual entity)

Ghostweb, about an year and half back, when i had an account with them, seemed the BEST shell provider to me. It had excellent uptime and lovely customer support, that i swear i have'nt seen in any other shell providers, with whom i have an account as of now. Every problem/mail got attended to in a span of less than 24 hours, and the servers NEVER lagged. But then something happened, and they said my CC showed bad, whereas it wuz actually working for the rest of the shells. And then they asked me to signup again, but this time at dslglobal.net. I didnt like it the way dslglobal looked on the website, i mean it looked so unprofessional.. I dont mean ghostweb wuz having a perfect site too, but then it had lovely service/shells. For some reason (lazy?) I didnt signup again, and instead tried another shell in their place...

But i still say ghostweb wuz the best, till they had a merger with DSLglobal.net. Im not sure as to how they are performing now..

Anyways, no hard feelings.. just my 2 cents

DSLGlobal services really sucks, never buy from them, basically they're looking for money without providing quality services to their customer.

If you want some pretty stable ( for local sg servers ) shell companies

Yeah, DSLGlobl does suck big time, and all it's sister companies. Someone forgot to mention www.i-shell.net which is equally lame and down 90% of the time. I used to have access on some of the accounts on DSLglobal, webcove, i-shell and ghostweb. While ghostweb *was* good before, now it is consumed by lameness of sysadmin. Sad thing is that that person is oper on galaxynet - nick Spades, and has an easy way to lure people into trusting him. Lame character indeed. Crooked ignorant goon, who can't even put up a good lie. Once i remember he sent 2 emails in 2 days, both to appologize about downtime of service - and both with different reasons! Boy I had a laugh. My friend is still some $50-60 down... Sad thing is that there were chat statistics on the web space provided by them, and contact email address was the one belonging to webcove's pop3 (so to avoid unnececery forwarding. And the lame yellow not-know-head-from-ass goon didn't delete the email address! So people used to email us, and then come to IRC complaining that we are irresponsible and don't reply to emails. Real mess.

Yes! Spades, oper of GalaxyNet cum owner of DSLGlobal is a liar. I did used his shell before, and what I get is 50% downtime....
