BOTNET

Post by intel »

I followed the directions to setup the botnet but it doesn't look like the leaf bots are talking to the main. I am running the main and 1 bot from the same machine and same dir (using 2 different configs).

Any help is appreciated.

your bots obviously don't recognize each other, so you have made a mistake somewhere, most likely with the hostmask. Follow the directions laid out here exactly to link your bots

I know. I followed the directions and even redid the whole thing and its the same thing. Again, I am running both bots from the same computer and same dir. I am loading them using 2 different config files. For abcbot I do ./eggdrop abcbot.conf and for xyzbot I do ./eggdrop xyzbot.conf

I am behind a router (linksys) but I put the IP address in the DMZ zone.

Is there a command I can run when I dcc chat the bot to see why it cant connect?

Thanks for your help, appreciate it.

yes it is: .link botname
but I don't see any address in your both bots, xxx.xxx.xx.net I dont think it is a proper adddress and second bot is missing the whole address as well.

Ok now i have them linked but the next problem is:
0[11:19] User file rejected by XYZbot: You are not marked for sharing with me.

I have the sharing module loaded and i did .chattr abcbot +ofbsh

so i am consufed on how to mark it for sharing.

TIA

There's a difference between "normal" flags (set by .chattr) and "botflags" (only applies to bots, set by .botattr). Flags regarding linking and sharing are botflags, not normal flags.

Make sure the bots are not linked while changing botattr's

they were not, if they are linked you can't make the change.
