This is Eggdrop's GNU configure script.
It's going to run a bunch of strange tests to hopefully
make your compile work without much twiddling.
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

Is there gcc installed and are all neccessary libraries installed?

I had the same problem. You got to put a gcc compiler on your server. get a rpm from
http://www.rpmfind.net then you can install it with rpm -ivh file.rpm and to uninstall one use rpm -e package. Good luck mate!
