Dcc chats on an irc network with ip cloaking

Post by Thracky »

Now, when I do a dcc chat my bot on this network, since I am owner and all, it easily lets me initiate the chat session, or do a /ctcp botnick chat. However, one of my users is now having the problem that the bot thinks he is sending bogus IP information. I didn't seem to be having this problem with any other users before, as their IP's are cloaked as well, is there something this user or I am doing wrong?

FYI The cloaked IP's are always non resolvable.

stupid eggdrop setting

Post by guppy »

You might have a stupid eggdrop setting called dcc-sanitycheck turned on. Turn it off .. in actuality dcc chats have very little to do with your IRC host or ip ... but with dcc-sanitycheck turned on Eggdrop tries to compare the host being sent with the one it finds on IRC.
