I was wondering if it would be possible for slennox to put his cmdcast portion of the tcl into it's own tcl. I personally don't use netbots, but love this particular feature. I likw to know who's doing what on my bots. This would be an invaluable feature.
I ran a few searches on the tcl archive, but could not find something similar. What do you say, slennox?
I have a script that does this and more. I hope to clear it up into a public version soon.
Until I get my ADSL connection (next week) and a computer that isn't a laptop (owned by work. a system is on the way though), I will not be able to give you a copy.
I have talked about the script in a previous thread. Here are some features of it.
Please not, it is rather customised at the moment, so it has no 1 genral purpose.
It manages incoming private messages, to determine if some1 is sending commands. In checks for invalid passwords, commands and users.
It detects incoming DCC chats, so that you know people are trying to access. It will (an adition, needed for myself too) track these connections, to see if they are ever fulfilled, if they are not, it will log it.
All commands in DCC chat are logged.
All these are securly sent via the botnet, for logging in one central location (As well as localy).
In will be as simple as turning on a console flag, to see what is logged via DCC chat.
All of my programming work (over 8 months ago) was done on a laptop. THis laptop is now buried under a pile of junk, a scrap yard would be proud of. This is only a small hurdle, but never the less, it's when I find time to locate it.
Beyond that, my ADSL connection is so on the blink, dial-up is more stable. The speed issues are now sorted, but routing issues at the ISP (software issue on supplied hardware, patched this morning with work around, but full blown fix unavailable till mid Dec) are hindering the effort. On top of this, faulty line cards in my exchange are also a problem, and a radius server (authentication) is loosing it's link to my ISP's server, causing it to forget about me.
I also have a few more important things on my plate, the major one being work. Christmas time in my office is like the North Pole. It's full of childs christmas presents (I work partly for a childrens charity). THese have to be delivered by hand in roughly 3 - 4 weeks, while I am dressed a photograph taking elf (don't ask, but I will show the pictures). My job also gives responsibilities of web-site designe for a farm, they have asked that there next update is a total re-design (I would have liked 6 months with the existing one, but they put me in head first) whcih has a dealine of 2 ago. On top, I also have to provide PC support for 4 other charitable organisations, and there various home workers that are linked by help, funding or friendship.
