Something has been happening since some 8 months and i always kept ignoring it thinking it's me whois goin wrong. But well, God showed me ways to see like-minded, like-problemed people.. and so, I found out that this problem is not just what I see, but what many others see too. That is why I'm coming out on the forum about it.
I've got 2 bots, a Leaf and a hub (as usual), The hub shares its userfile with the leaf.
My steps are: (as on www.egghelp.org/enhance.htm )
On Hub
.+bot Leaf 65.65.65.2:3001/3501
.chattr Leaf +fo
.botattr Leaf +s
.botattr Leaf |+s #channeltoshare
.chpass Leaf blabla
I know there is nothing wrong here. And it's the usual/normal way to add up bots, as well as put them on sharing. And as soon as these bots link up, everything is just beautifully normal. But once the hub, or the leaf.. any one of them restarts, the Leaf loses ALL data of the hub. There is nothing left. Do a .whois Hub, and it says no such user!On Leaf
.+bot Hub 65.65.65.1:3000/3500
.chattr Hub +f|+o #channel
.botattr Hub +p
.botattr Hub |+s #channeltoshare
.chpass Hub blabla
.botattr Hub +h
Many a time, I've been given a solution of adding the hubs data to itself, as when the Hub overwrites the Leaf's userfile with that of its own.. the leaf will obviously lose hub data. That's true. But isnt there any workaround of not getting leaf to lose the hub data? Or cant something be done to eggdrop to prevent this? Or is it a bug?

There has to be *something* which can prevent this dreaded thing from happening (needs so much of manual intervention) and I'm sure you guys got ideas.. I'm stumped on this myself.
