my bot is asking ip address and hostname to connect to the web with.. is this my ip and hostname it wants or my shell ip and hostname?

Ever so greatfull for the help guys u guys have been great today.

If you mean the my-hostname and my-ip settings then these should be the hostname and the ip of your bot (i.e. the vhost you wish your bot to use)
