Problem with connecting to bot

Post by darton »

Hello!
I reinstalled mirc and changed my nickname. I also changed the server so I had to move my bot to a new one. In the conf-file I set my new nick as the owner of the bot, but my bot doesn't recognize me. I tried /msg botnick IDENT password, but it didn't help. I can't connect with the party-line. What chan I do? Is it possible to reset my bot?

sounds like you have a windrop, not an eggdrop, at any rate, eggdrop doesn't go by nick alone, but rather your nick!ident@domain.com. Read How To Configure Your Eggdrop and learn about the IDENT command.
Good Luck

Darton, if you're using another nick at the time...don't forget to add your handle within the ident-command : like /Msg botnick ident yourpassword yourhandle.
An xtra remark did you copy the userfile tot your new server?

Issueing the ident message command only works if the bot is configured for its use.
Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.
