Any good reliable script for join/part flood ?
I loaded the latest version of Sentinel and it was setting +im on every netsplit rejoin.
Dunno why, maybe coz many ppl on my chan have the same IPs (they join from similar cable providers).

Thx

Hi

I think MC_8 made one, Anti Flyby, you can find it here

Yes but if I am not mistaken, MC_8's scripts are for floods from single host right ?
I am looking for a script that detects a join/part flood from multiple hosts and sets +R
I'll check the script you pointed out, thx

You can edit the sentinel script, find where it sets +im, and change it to +R.

With respects to Slennox ... I already did that
Still when there is a netsplit rejoin, the script sometimes sets mode +mR (coz I modified it from mi to mR).
What can trigger a false alarm ? Can it be the fact that many ppl in my channel are on same IPs ? I don't want to unload Sentinel. It's a gr8 script but I find myself forced too ... as it's sometimes giving false alarms.

False alarms will be unavoidable until the release of human.tcl in 2018.

Regarding netsplits, type .sentinel and make sure the output contains "quit detection off". For the join-part flood to be triggered, joins and parts must each exceed the specified flood count within the the specified number of seconds (i.e. from your flood:seconds settings). The joins and quits of a netsplit should not trigger it, unless detectquits is enabled or enough people mysteriously part the channel around the same time as the split rejoins are occuring.

A log of the event would be helpful (leaving 5 mins of stuff before/after the event). If it's more than 40 lines or so send it to slennox at egghelp.org.

Almost forgot - a copy of your settings would be useful as well.
