Installing on NetBSD: can't find libtcl84.so

Post by tarutaru »

I have spent the past couple days trying to get eggdrop working on my school's NetBSD machines, but I am having little luck.

I installed tcl to my home directory and when running the configure script I pointed it to the correct locations for the library and header files, but when I run make it seems to have an issue after its compiled where it can't find the libtcl84.so file....

The binary is there, but when I run it it gives the error-

If anyone can help or gives some tips that would be awesome...installed most recent version of tcl as well..

the error it gives me looks like:

Successful compile: eggdrop

All modules compiled.

Test run of ./eggdrop -v:
Shared object "libtcl84.so" not found
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /home/aliaban/bot

nvm.. found the article after extensive searching... for some reason putting "netbsd" as the search term didn't give me all topics with "netbsd" in it...
