Where/how did you install tcl?

Systemwide installation, or just in your home directory?

If systemwide, did you update /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig?

If locally, did you compile your eggdrop with -rpath directive, or make sure the installation location is included in LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable?

In that case, I would really recommend downloading the source and compile it yourself (eggdrop).

In order to locate where tcl (or libtcl or tcllib, don't remember which name(s) deb uses), try something like this:

Code: Select all

locate libtcl tcl.h
This should provide you the location of any tcl-libraries and headerfiles on the system.

the tcl is locate at:

/usr/lib/libtcl8.4.so.0

thats the result of
"locate libtcl tcl.h"

i will try to uninstall eggdrop via Webmin and make manuell install with compile. I will give you feedback over the results.

Thanks a lot for this time...

Sounds like you need to check your /etc/ld.so.conf and runt ldconfig.

The only text into /etc/ld.so.conf when i open it with nano is:

/usr/X11R6/lib

The following steps from the install manual doesnt can be made:

9) Type make install DEST=/home/name/botdir
10) Switch to the botdir and edit the sample config file eggdrop.conf, then rename it to something appropriate (e.g. botnick.conf).
11) Type ./eggdrop -m <config file>

But when its to many work to plain this problem fixing here, i give you an access with ssh and so you can fix it easier.. ???

Well, those steps will not suceed until your eggdrop is able to load the shared library, so lets just focus on that atm.

I don't remember wether /usr/local/lib is within the trusted default searches (for ld.so), although I guess it's not. Try adding it on a separate line into your /etc/ld.so.conf file. Then, as root, run the ldconfig program and wait for it to complete. Once done, you could try step 9 (make install) and see if it helped.
