Getting abit annoying having posts bumped by that spambot "micky0604" over and over.. Time for some moderator intervention?

Or perhaps it's time you were a moderator? heh..heh..heh..
What is especially annoying is the microscopic text used to spam with.. lmao.. and the tony the tiger remark, great!

I can't ban/remove
the account, but I've deleted all its posts. (one by one
...it took some clicking
)
EDIT: It seems it is still posting... :/

Valiant effort user, bravo. Apparently it finds amusement with your efforts because along with the tony the tiger-esque "great" remark is now added some insightful commentary about the book "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein... Quite an oddball flooder we have here...

Well done, user. Keep up the good work
Too bad he managed to hit so many threads I've got on watch list..

The account been deleted. phpbb's flood protection is somewhat deficient.

Looked at the docs for 3.0 and didn't see any indication of changes to the flood protection, though I may have missed something since it wouldn't let me display the entire guide on one page to search.

More spam:
ijkl884
davidmncc
It looks like nml375 is busy dealing with davidmncc - I've deleted all posts by ijkl884 (if you edit their posts, make sure you remove/rewrite all urls so they don't get the google juice they're here for)

Looks like the whac-a-mole game will continue until additional preventative measures are taken. I'm up to page 4 of 37 in the list of available mods

Well Captcha is much more devloped in v3, there is a list of changes here:
http://www.phpbb.com/about/features/
Perhaps this mod can fix it if you dont wish to upgrade:

One possible approach, I guess, would be to use something like the "Approval MOD", and restrict postings for those who hasn't had 10 approved posts yet.
The downside would mainly be a lot more work for us moderators, and the possible discomfort of censorship of new members.
