Error Messages when posting replies

Post by TCL_no_TK »

For a few weeks now i've noticed i've been getting error messages when replying to posts? The Message is "No post mode specified" is anyone else getting this message? I just click back and it seems to fix it, and i can post.

Nothing I've experienced sofar..
I've got no idea why, but it would seem the reply-form would lack a hidden input named 'mode' (should have the value 'reply' since we're replying to posts). I suppose you could use FireBug (FF) or DebugBar (IE) to see how the form layout appears to your browser. The hidden form inputs should be located in the same table cell as the Preview and Submit buttons.

Well, that only suggests there is something wrong with your FireFox profile. From what I've gathered, there's no javascript code that should affect the mode form field.

Also, are you experiencing this with any other browsers, such as IE, Chrome, Opera, lynx?
Got some extensions enabled in FF that might interfere?
Which Color theme do you use in the phpBB board (check your profile - "Board Style")?

Btw, which version of FF and FireBug are you using at the moment?

Firefox/3.6, FireBug 1.5, i'd only recently updated since i was using an older version of firefox. (no extensions, java, flash all latest version lol pretty obsessive about updating that sort of thing)
I dont really use internet explorer or other browsers. As for the forum settings, i leave them as the default one for registered users its probably silver theme.

* currently using a fresh install (works great now, thank you)
