DCC chat problem

Post by Exterus »

Hi.

Okay, I have a frustrating and befuddling problem. I have a bot on a machine that I also irc from with irssi. So my irc client and the bot is on the same computer, right? I can't connect to the bot via dcc.

The thing is though, I have another bot on the same machine1 on another network that I can dcc to from the same machine without issue. I even copied the functioning bots config file (just changing the bot and channel names) and used it with the bot on which dcc does not function. But it still doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong?

I just got a dcc issue from nowhere:

[01:33] (Invalid argument)
[01:33] CTCP DCC: CHAT CHAT 2001:470:1f07:915::26 63889 from mynick (ident@host)

All I did was fix a script that was messed up. Has absolutely nothing to do with dcc or chat in any way, shape or form. When I restarted, I could not dcc and got that error in telnet. :\

What happened?

My problem ended up fixing itself :\ I dcc'd to my bot from another host, retried from the original one and it worked. Just a random issue I guess, heh.
