where do i set what port that i want it to usee for dcc becuase i'm behind a firewal and need to know what port to forward.
the channel it is in has a key where in the config file can i set the the key so i don't have to turn off the key every time it joins
i'm runing debian if that helps any

Search for "listen" in the config file for the ports.
As for the channel key, see ".help chaninfo" and ".help chanset".

okay i forward the port tah i found there and it is a no go.
is there any other ways to add user to it over then dcc because dcc does not seem to be working
i'm uisng mirc do you think xchat would have abetter chance at it

Doubtful. There is only one type of DCC chat, and both xchat and mirc support it.
This sounds more like a configuration problem in other parts of the conf.
You will need to set my-ip to the internal IP of the machine (eg 192.168.1.3). You will then need to locate and set the value of nat-ip. This should be set to your external IP (that seen on the internet ont he router, or firewall machine).
AN alternative again is to use "/ctcp <botnick> chat"

Is the bot behind zthe firewall too? Than try /ctcp botnick chat or just start a telnet connection to the local Ip of the machine the bot is on.

also can somebody point me to a good how to i got it up and running
hav read the read me both the debian and the regualr ,the man pages,
and all three of the config files
i had dcc workign once earlier today but hten it stoped
also the ot an me are behind the same firewalll
