Botnet error

Post by skeezer »

I have to bot's linked on a botnet but when the leaf is trying to connect the hub I get this kind of message:

HUB:
Telnet connection: xxxxx.inet.fi/55482
Challenging banger...
Linked to banger.
*** Linked to banger
Creating resync buffer for banger
Sending user file send request to banger
Timeout on userfile transfer.
*** Disconnected banger (timed-out userfile transfer)

LEAF:
[22:24] Received challenge from flacid... sending response ...
Linked to flacid.
*** Linked to flacid
Downloading user file from flacid
Failed connection; aborted userfile transfer.
Disconnected from: flacid. No reason (lost 1 bot and 1 user)
*** Disconnected from: flacid. No reason (lost 1 bot and 1 user)

The settings on the bots are like this :

HUB:
banger yes 0 bfo 22:29 (linked)
#channel amnos never
BOT FLAGS: s
HOSTS: *!skeezer@xxxx.dial.inet.fi
ADDRESS:
users: 3333, bots: 3333

LEAF:
flacid yes 0 bfo 22:27 (unlinked)
#channel amnos never
HOSTS: *!flacid@xxxx.inet.fi
BOT FLAGS: hp
ADDRESS: xxxx.inet.fi
users: 1500, bots: 1500

Are these OK or is there something that should be changed? Should the hub bot's address be a hostname or ip-address?

Thanks for the help and answers!

I have shorewall firewall on my own computer and at the other computer is firestarter. I have opened the correct port from both and set "set my-ip" but still it doesn't work.

What if I have a router, what should I do?

take a look at nat-ip and reserved-portrange in conf if you are on NAT
the file transfer will take place on the reserved-portrange not the bots listen port
