Good day all
Not to sure what to put in the eggdrop.conf file.Where my-ip is located do i put the ip number of my computer which is 192.168.0.104 or do i put my isp provider ip number which is 68.0.25.1.
Also im having problems with /ctcp chat and telnet with bot.It seems after i shut down the bot an restart it i cant ctcp it or telnet for some reason, does anyone know how i may solve this problem. And the bot ignores all my commands like if i try to ident with it or set a new password. Thanks for the help Joe
k well sounds like you have many problems here heh
you should read nat-ip setting in your conf ( altho personally i would try setting my-ip first and seeing if it works ). Best to use nat-ip as a last resort in my experience..you may also need to read reserved-portrange.
as for the ctcp and telnet thing.. the bot will simply not answer your ctcp..msg commands or anything if he doesn't recognize your host ( assuming you have the right flags to get to partyline). so check your host. Telnet should work fine (assuming protect-telnet is off or you have the correct host for it to not deny you access)as long as you are telnetting the correct port (listen users or all in conf) and that port is not filtered. If it is well fix it or try telnetting your local ip or localhost on the shell the bot runs on.
you can just leave the my-ip field blank and put the # in front of the code line. this will force the bot to grab the default ip .
i am assuming this is running from your house and you have a dynamic-ip
so everytime you reconnect to the internet, the ip changes.
if you have a static ip, then you can set the static ip in the field, the 68.0.25.1 address might be static. i am not sure if COX has static ips or not for customers.
