SQL and Userfile database

Hi... again
Question: is there away to get the eggdrop to store user information in a SQL database rather then the botname.user file ? (some odd module or something) =)
(and still.. it's my own machine it will be runing on)

Currently? No.

In the future? Perhaps. Someone around here was working on a mysql mod. I am not sure if it can do what you're asking though.

The mysql.mod will (according to the post) int he furture do this task.

It currently only has the ability to log channels, and is of ALPHA quality.

Maybe way in the future it will. Right now, eggdrop's user management code is built-in to the core, so you can't modify it with a module or script.

Creating a user management api that can be overlayed by modules/scripts is something I want to do in 1.7/1.8.

It will not do that. It would be a standalone job if anything at all. Infact, since I presented my mysql.mod I've recived some mail about this kind of feature. Seems like they want to fully integrate their IRC channel into the web.
