Check the following setting in your configuration file for a start:

Code: Select all

# What is your network?
# 0 = EFnet
# 1 = IRCnet
# 2 = Undernet
# 3 = DALnet
# 4 = +e/+I/max-modes 20 Hybrid
# 5 = Others
set net-type 0
Under UltimateIRCd a setting of '3' works well.

Read Setting up an Eggdrop to re-check your configuration.

Via DCC with your bot type:

Code: Select all

.help whois
You will see a list of all available flags and their uses.

Changes to channel settings via DCC requires the use of the .chanset <channel> <settings> command.

Changes to the user flags via DCC requires the use of the .chattr <handle> [flags] [channel] command.

Are you using a botnet script by any chance?

I had similiar problem in Evangeline (eggdrop 1.6.16 modified) and IRCnet network. My bots set only +b *!*@* and usually after splits. I've check it, and it looks that new ircd (2.11.x) and ircd with +fr patch have some kind of bug (i'm not sure yet). Anyone know more about it?

As a quick little test, comment out the line that loads "smart.tcl" and restart your bot(s) and see if it happens without it. :)

I'm not using any scripts, and I have same thing. I don't think that it is a tcl script related problem :(
Btw. My bots worked fine for more that 2 months, no updates, no new scripts, but suddenly starter to add those weird bans.

Network Admins done any IRCD upgrades recently?

The bit I especially find unusual is this >> +b *!*@*

I run bots under Bahamut and their shell is FreeBSD and none of them will allow +b *!*@*. If any op in a channel I have a bot in accidentally (or deliberately) uses *!*@* the bot immediately removes it, an eggdrop under normal conditions will not set a ban, or allow one (for instance) that would get it kicked from its' own channel.

Hi.
I have the same, identical problem.
All bots running 1.6.16 perform a ban on mas *!*@*
when returning after a split or rejoin the channel after a long time.
I see thay place a ban correctly and quickly after the *!*@*

I'm sure is a 1.6.16 bug, like the other fortunately patched.

On 1.6.15 this don't happen, on 1.6.16 badly yes :( :(

Any suggestion welcome, but for me is related on egg source

The problem only have him when I put an exempt or invite or ban in stick :((
Do not think that it is a bug problem seen that I have this problem with 3 eggdrop (13 15 16) versions

Re-check net-type setting in configuration file. Any alteration to a setting in that file requires a rehash, or even a restart for the change to take effect.

I posted all the available net-type values above. Notice what '4' does. Setting net-type 1 or net-type 5 requires more editing of settings. Bots using UltimateIRCd will function properly with a net-type 3.

It cannot be eggdrop problem. Last days i saw eggdrops 1.3 which set exacly same ban on IRCnet on ircd 2.11.x servers :(

Enabling the following two settings will allow a bot to set +e/+I when entering a channel:

Code: Select all

# Do you want to enable exempts (+e modes)?
set use-exempts 0

# Do you want to enable invites (+I modes)?
set use-invites 0
Depending on net-type setting, a bot will also perform a /mode #chan +b

There is no 'bug' in eggdrop causing this which is why I think it's purely a (mis)configuration problem. :)
