is there anyway around this? i don't see why it's such a big deal if the bots are not sharing and aren't even directly linked

what is this? a notc/irc error? or is this simply telling you that someone already has the nick "*"?

It's a big deal. The way messages are distributed across the botnet means you'd create an infinite loop of every message entering the bot loop (i think)
