just '.chanset #yourchannel -nodesynch'
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

That's a dcc chat / telnet command. Just either /ctcp <botnick> chat or telnet in and use it.

The idea is good, but must be done as

Code: Select all

.chanset #channel stopnethack-mode 0
overwise the bot will always overwrite the channel setting over the global setting which is only used when adding a new channel record.

Or one simply kills the bot, deletes both .chan & .chan~bak files, restarts the bot.

Yes, as that information is stored separately. :)

Also make sure you change 'stopnethack-mode' in any channel settings in your configuration file else the problem will emerge again.

personally I use stopnethack-mode 3 and -nodesynch on a server with chanserv... why my bot doesnt fight against the nethack? oh yeah, there was a userflag to excempt specified user from nethack! and so I have a userrecord named chanserv with host "ChanServ!services@euirc.net". works nice for me, at least as long the server sends the mode change like "ChanServ!services@euirc.net MODE #ragnarokonline +o [-RO^Bot-]"
this way I dont have to turn it off generally ;).

These global settings have never failed me in 4 years.
set global-flood-chan 15:60
set global-flood-deop 3:10
set global-flood-kick 3:10
set global-flood-join 6:20
set global-flood-ctcp 5:20
set global-flood-nick 6:20
set global-aop-delay 5:30
set global-idle-kick 0
set global-chanmode "nt"
set global-stopnethack-mode 0
set global-revenge-mode 0
set global-ban-time 120
set global-exempt-time 60
set global-invite-time 60

set global-chanset {
-autoop +autovoice
-bitch +cycle
+dontkickops +dynamicbans
+dynamicexempts -dynamicinvites
-enforcebans -greet
-inactive +nodesynch
+protectfriends +protectops
-revenge -revengebot
-secret -seen
-shared -statuslog
+userbans +userexempts
+userinvites -protecthalfops
-autohalfop
}
# nodesynch
# Allow non-ops to perform channel modes? This can stop the bot from
# fighting with services such as ChanServ, or from kicking IRCops when
# setting channel modes without having ops.
Personally, a very wise move to have it enabled.

well, eggdrop's right on that one... ircops oping themselves on channels ARE abusers ;) of their powers (they shouldn't be able to do that in the first place)

On DALnet it's forbidden and any IRCOp that is discovered to have done that is punished.
