eggy logging level

Is it possible to tweak a setting / alter a core file before compiling, to show a greater level of logging information? A couple of my bots have been glined, yet I can't find out why.. The eggdrop.log file doesnt provide enough information - why doesn't it specifically give the reason for the gline ...

A question on ip / port binding and udp protocol

Lo all, I'm trying to clear up the listening ports on my fedora server, and making sure that all the processes only bind / listen on the right IP. Now this setting in the conf: set my-hostname "some.isp.com" set my-ip "111.111.111.111" Will bind it to one ip. Yet when I do a nets...

Bot compile question / max user name length

Lo all,

As default it seems you can only add users to the bot with a maximum of 9 letters for their name.

So before I compile my next bot, what file need I to alter to allow me to add users with max 15 letters in their name? - Same as the network the bot is on uses?

Thanks.

Lo again strikelight, Yep, I did delete the *~bak file aswell. It's a very wierd bug. One I bet I couldn't repeat.. I spent a while going through the chanset commands and adding what I wanted the bot to do, think I'll admit defeat over this one, and wait for the next release, then do a fresh compile...

Nope, not the case at all. Channel settings are taken from the .conf file to start with, then saved to *.chan file after that. The commands for op / unban etc were in the conf file before I even started the bot for the first time, so therefore are valid. I didnt alter anything with a .chanset comman...

Thanks for the reply m8,

But this isnt the case here, as this is a brand-new-just-compiled bot, so the conf file settings are ok.

Just tried courier new font, and its basically the same. I'll install a copy of 5.91 and see if that helps.

I think it's just a uncorrectable (atm) mIRC thing... ?!?

It displays single spaces fine, but it is a problem when the bot outputs text with many spaces next to one another. For example the 'eggdrop' logo bot owners see when they first dcc their bot is a mess under mIRC as its 'deleted' the multiple spaces, but under nix, it looks how the author intended. ...

mIRC & more than a single space...

Lo all, I recently had to downgrade from using my linux comp to the windows one (hardware troubles). Up until now I have been using XChat to dcc my bots. But now as I am using mIRC, I am finding it a nightmare to do anything in DCC as mIRC wont display more than a single space. For example typing .m...

Mode +u on quakenet

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to make an egg enforce +u on quakenet? (mode +u hides quit messages when ppl err.. quit).

At the moment, it is not possible as far as I can see...

Thanks,

Flux.
