For some reason, when I use botnick the bot does not connect to the server successfully. Would this mean the setup for the bot is incorrect?
this cannot happen.. i guess global botnick have nothing to do with connection.

While editing the conf please keep in mind the difference between a comment and a un-comment line for e.g. # set abc "123" in this case abce is not being set because of the # the line after # wouldnt be read so u should uncomment all the lines that are required for an eggdrop to run succes...
