I changes the botnick in the cofig-file...but it would be easier to do it in the bot...

I wouldn't call that a bug, just a little something the author of the script might have forgotten to mention
Just change this in your config file:
set keep-nick 1
change it to 0, rehash the bot, and then try the .botnick command again. It'll work without any problems.
