Well, the eggdev has'nt released eggdrop with IPv6 yet. I've heard that there will be a release soon enough with IPv6. Till then you gotta wait buddy.

To be honest, I was not going to comment after the link was posted.

I am unable to verify if these are working copies of the current support.

As far as I remember (baring in mind, it's Friday, and there are a whole lot of bars I havn't visited yet), support has been added, but will no be (officialy) included within eggdrop 1.6.x.

The last time I remember, the official support was still being tested.

I will search through every single e-mail I have and report back as to the status.

After looking like mad, I have managed to confirm the address.

http://drummer.dhs.org/ipv6/egg6-0724b.tgz is the latest version (allthough, no new source has been posted since 27th July 2001).

The only differance in compiling this version, you must enable the IPv6 support by typing
./configure --enable-ipv6
instead of the normal ./configure command.

i did ./configure --enable-ipv6 when compiling
in config i set my-ip6 to "3ffe(...)"

Botnick!username@ipv4

There is a few things that need to be done, before IPv6 can be used.

The first one, which is most obvious. Is your computer/shell connected to, or at least piped through a IPv6 network?

If not, then you have lost all hope of using IPv6 on that box.

if yes, signup and contact eggheads@eggheads.org.

i use bitchx with ipv6 adresses so server should have support for ipv6, after tests i discovered that bot has a problem with connecting to server, there is no response from server, even no error
[15:35] Trying server irc6.ngnet.it 6667
when i type .status:
No server currently.
console is set to show server messeges

You would have to contact eggdev on this issue, as 99% of us still live in the IPv4 world.

Guys?
Could you post some info on how to make the bot use the ipv6, when i already know that the server is piped to ipv6 network?

OOOH - Another person that uses a reading based technology but fails to read.

Contact eggheads@eggheads.org, as 99% of us live in the IPv4 world, and have no way of testing IPv6 - so why on earth do we need to even bother reading up on it, just for your pleasure.
