Yeah you can run eggdrops from shells, most net wont allow more than 3-4 connections with the same ident however before you get banned, so if you want a bunch of eggies make sure you get more than one login or more than one shell. Bots (eggdrops) are excellent for keeping a channel secure and up 24/...

Question.....

Do you get 1bot to join, but see 3 processes on the shell?
If so is the shell running debian?

I had a shell that ran on debian and that started 2 baby processes, nothing you could do about it as far as i could tell. So i got rid of the shell and only run bots on bsd instead :)

Hi De Kus, First of all, thanks for helping me. As far as i know it doesn't, I copied the IP part of the conf as i have it right now. # If you're using virtual hosting (your machine has more than 1 IP), you # may want to specify the particular IP to bind to. You can specify either # by hostname or b...

1.6.15 and ipv6 have i missed something?

Hello, I wanted to try out ipv6 on an eggy and as I have only used ipv4 earlier i did some reading on old topics here and came to the conclusion that 1.6.15 would be the best option. So I downloaded and installed that and changed the conf.file including the "my ip" and my vhost" for i...

you are telneting to the bots IP or vhost right, and using the listening port defined in your conf.file?

If i remember correct the bot also sets telnet acess for you when you msg the bot hello and become owner.

Eggdrops runs excellent on fbsd, and seeing your machine is that old I am almost certain bsd will outperform a linux dist.
